Volunteers

Would you like to make a difference in our community? Peak Literacy's mission is to prepare students for personal and collective success through consistent one-to-one reading instruction provided by competent and nurturing volunteers. We use the research-based Great Leaps Reading Program to deliver personalized lessons to students who are two or more years behind in their reading levels. Our amazing volunteer reading coaches are central to the success of our students' progress. Therefore, we ask for a minimum one-semester commitment.

Most of our summer lessons will take place virtually, 15 minutes-a-day, five times a week through our online platform between the hours of 8:00 am-9:00 p.m. However, we're thrilled to announce that we're also offering in-person lessons during summer school at Stephen Foster and Shell Elementary. These volunteer opportunities require a minimum commitment of one hour per week through the month of June. You'll have the chance to indicate your availability and schedule a training session when completing your application.
